Debora Maiques

Born in Barcelona, ​​Debora began her studies at the age of 6 at the Elise Lummis Dance School, through the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance methodology in London. At the same time she combined her training with great teachers such as Rodolfo Castellanos, Jean Emile and Anne Mittelholzer among others. In 2001, she joined the National Dance Company 2, directed by Nacho Duato. Between 2003 and 2005 she performed with the Ballet de Carmen Roche and the Ballet de Teatros of the Generalitat of Valencia. As of 2005, she has the great opportunity to perform as a soloist at the Ballett Theater Basel (Switzerland), where she is currently dancing and choreographing for the Dancelab of the company. Here she has had the opportunity to work with such prestigious choreographers as J.Kilyan, J. Inger, S. Thoss, A. Ekman, H. Schecter, M. Bigonzetti, A. Preljockaj and R. Wherlock, among others. In 2009 she was nominated for best dancer in Switzerland. In 2015, Debora created (along with two other choreographers) the LoopTanz, where they create their own productions with permanent residency at the Neuestheater Dornach, Basel.
