Luke Prunty
Born in Australia, Luke trained in music and dance from a young age. He studied classical ballet at Alegria Dance Studios in Sydney and continued his training at the Rudra-Béjart school in Lausanne, Switzerland. With the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, he performed in productions such as Boléro, Le Concours and Le Sacre du Printemps by Maurice Béjart. From 2011 to 2014, Luke was a member of the Tanzcompany Innsbruck, performing in productions by Enrique Gasa Valga, Bridget Breiner, Marie Sockhausen, Angel Rodriguez and Natalia Horecna. He joined Gauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart in 2014 and performed soloist roles in choreographies by Ohad Naharin, Hans van Manen, Marco Goecke, Hofesh Shechter, Johan Inger, Nanine Linning and Andonis Foniadakis, among others. Luke has performed in festivals and galas throughout Europe, North America, Thailand, Korea and Israel, and was a dancer in the German movie musical Mackie Messer: Brechts Dreigroschenfilm. He has taught dance, drama and circus students in Austria, Germany and Switzerland and is a collaborating choreographer with Cie Open Mouvement. As a member of the Cultura en Moviment Association, he is the co-director and production manager of the festival Girona en Moviment since its inception.
Currently based in Switzerland, Luke is a freelance dancer, personal trainer, dancer teacher and graduate in Exercise and Sport Science from Charles Darwin University. He is a fitness coach at the La Clinique La Lignière, the International Olympic Committee, the Centre de physiothérapie du sport "Enmouvement", and the Holmes Place Lausanne. His latest choreography, "Tongues", was created for the Ballet de Barcelona and premiered at the Teatre Condal in 2021.
