Photography in the city
Dance continues to be present in Girona during these days through photography, in three emblematic points of the city: Rambla de la Llibertat, Plaça Catalunya and Plaça del Lleó.
This small exposition consists of a selection of six images on and off stage of the most emblematic artists who have passed through the festival. There are also photographs in the studio as well as in the beautiful streets of Girona. The photographers are Manel Díaz, Paula Fernández and Beto Pérez, three artists who have selflessly collaborated with the festival in different editions. The concept for this exposition is dance as a catalyst for a happy and healthy society. "We need the arts as much or more as material things to be fulfilled and to be able to build a better country," explained the festival's director, David Rodríguez.
The opening of the exhibition is celebrated on Thursday July 9 at 7 pm with the participation of the photographers and the direction of the festival, commencing at the Pont de Pedra, passing by Plaça Catalunya and ending at Plaça del Lleó. The photographs present their work and share their different photographic styles and the specificities of dance photography. An opportunity to get to know the photography of the Girona en Moviment festival, which has been raising funds for the Fundació Oncolliga Girona through dance and the arts since 2017.

Dance and solidarity will have to wait
We are very sorry to inform you that, due to the global crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have decided to cancel this year's edition of Girona en Moviment (GeM), which was to be held from 9 to 12 July, and postpone it to 2021.
After assessing all options, and given the regulations set by the authorities to prevent possible contagion, this is the only decision that fully ensures the health and safety of all attendees, artists and volunteers involved. In addition, the uncertainty of international travel in the near future restricts the artists movements and therefore we would be unable to present the international programme prepared for this year’s edition.
In recent months we have worked hard to create a unique experience for the artists, collaborators, audiences and patients participating in the 2020 edition. We were looking forward to welcoming you back to GeM and sharing beautiful moments of art and solidarity. While this year will not be possible, we have already begun work on next year’s edition, to make it better and more exciting than ever. Mark the dates in your calendar: 15 - 18 July 2021.
Help us to help others!
Unfortunately, the Girona en Moviment festival is not the only charity event that raises money for the Fundació Oncolliga Girona that has been suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This means the funds needed to provide services to help cancer patients and their families will not be raised this year. Your contribution in the form of a donation is more important today than ever.
